Welcome to KnitzNGritz (https://knitzngritz.com). KnitzNGritz is run by Wildfire Watchdog LLC, a company based in Bend, Oregon, USA ("we", "us", "our"). These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use KnitzNGritz. Please read them. By creating an account, buying a plan or using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use KnitzNGritz.
Questions? Email us at admin@wildfirewatchdog.com.
Who can use KnitzNGritz
- You must be at least 18 years old. KnitzNGritz is not for children or teens, and we close accounts we learn belong to anyone under 18.
- You must be able to make a binding contract, and you must not be barred from using the service under the law that applies to you.
- If you use KnitzNGritz for a company, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it, and "you" includes that company.
Your account
- Give us a real email address and keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account. Don't share your login, and don't sell or give away access.
- Tell us right away at admin@wildfirewatchdog.com if you think someone else has used your account.
What KnitzNGritz does
KnitzNGritz is a set of AI media tools:
- Voice: AI narration from text (text-to-speech), and voice cloning from a sample you upload.
- Book Mode: long-form narration of your writing.
- Shorts Studio: vertical short videos.
- Avatar: a talking video made from a photo of a face.
- Slideshow: videos made from your pictures.
- Image Studio: AI pictures made from text.
- Pitch tool: change the pitch or speed of audio.
- My Media: where your uploads and results are kept.
We may add, change or remove tools over time. If we remove a tool that's a main part of your plan, we'll tell you by email, and you can cancel.
Plan, price and billing
- Our plan is called "AI Slop Machine". It costs $5 per month (USD), plus any tax that applies. Payment is handled by Stripe through Stripe Checkout.
- Your subscription renews automatically every month, and Stripe charges your card each month, until you cancel.
- You can cancel or change your card yourself at any time in the Stripe Customer Portal, using the button on your Account page. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the month you've already paid for, and then it stops. You won't be charged again.
- If a payment fails, we may pause your plan until it's paid.
- If we ever change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
- Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
Monthly allowance
Each billing month your plan includes:
- 10 Shorts
- 10 Avatar renders
- 100 images
- 60 minutes of narration
- 5 GB of storage
The allowance resets at the start of each billing month. Unused allowance does not roll over. We may change the allowance with at least 30 days' notice by email.
Credit packs
- A credit pack costs $5 (one-time) and gives you 10 extra renders.
- Credits are used only after your monthly allowance runs out.
- Credits don't expire while your account is active. Credits are lost if your account is deleted or banned. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred.
- If a render fails, the render goes back to your allowance or credits automatically.
Your content and who owns it
- "Your content" means what you upload (text, photos, audio, voice samples, video) and what KnitzNGritz makes for you (results).
- You own your content, to the extent the law allows. We don't claim ownership of it.
- You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, copy, convert and deliver your content, only so we can run KnitzNGritz for you (for example, to send your photo to a GPU server to make your video). This license ends when your content is deleted, except for copies that remain in backups for a short time, as described in our privacy policy.
- We don't sell your content.
- You promise you have the rights you need to everything you upload, and that your content and your use of it won't break the law or anyone else's rights.
About AI results
- AI results can be wrong, strange or not what you expected. Check them before you rely on or publish them.
- AI results may look or sound like results made for other people. Other users may get similar results, and you don't get exclusive rights to them.
- We can't promise that AI results can be protected by copyright. In many countries, including the USA, material made by AI without enough human creativity may not be protected.
- Generated voices carry an inaudible watermark (Resemble AI's Perth watermark) that lets software detect that the audio was made by AI. Don't try to remove it.
- Label AI content where a platform's rules or the law require it (for example, when you post to social media sites that ask you to mark AI-made or altered media).
Rules for using KnitzNGritz
These rules are strict. Our filters enforce them, and we may also review content when it's reported or flagged. If you break these rules, we may close your account immediately, without a refund.
- No minors. No content involving anyone under 18 in the image and video tools. Photos and prompts that look like they involve someone under 18 are blocked.
- No sexual or nude content of anyone, real or made up.
- No deepfakes of real people. You may only animate, voice or depict yourself, or people who have given you written permission. Never public figures (for example politicians, celebrities or influencers), even with what looks like permission.
- Voice cloning needs consent. Before cloning a voice, you must tick a box confirming it's your own voice or that the speaker has given you permission. Keep that permission and show it to us if we ask.
- No harassment, bullying, hate, threats or content that encourages violence.
- No fraud, scams, impersonation, or content that tricks people into thinking a real person said or did something they didn't.
- No political deception or election misinformation, including fake statements by candidates or officials, or false information about how, when or where to vote.
- No spam, malware or anything illegal.
- No infringing other people's copyright, trademarks, privacy or publicity rights.
- No trying to get around our filters, limits or security, no scraping or automated access we haven't approved, no reverse engineering, and no overloading our systems.
- No reselling access to KnitzNGritz and no sharing accounts.
We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement, and we keep the information the law requires us to keep for those reports.
Our filters are automatic and not perfect. They may sometimes block content that is allowed, or miss content that isn't. You are still responsible for following these rules.
Copyright complaints (DMCA)
If you think something on KnitzNGritz infringes your copyright, email our copyright agent at admin@wildfirewatchdog.com with:
- your name, address, phone number and email;
- a description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- where the material is on KnitzNGritz (a link or enough detail for us to find it);
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or allowed to act for the owner;
- your physical or electronic signature.
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send us a counter-notice with the details the law requires. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Our software and brand
KnitzNGritz, its website, design and code belong to us or our licensors (it includes open-source software, used under its own licenses). These terms don't give you any rights to our name, logo or software, except the right to use the service as described here.
Suspension and termination
- You can stop using KnitzNGritz at any time, cancel your plan, and delete your account from your Account page.
- We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if your payment fails, if we're required to by law, or if your use creates a risk to others or to us. When possible, we'll tell you why. For serious violations (like the rules above about minors, sexual content or deepfakes), we may close the account immediately and without notice.
- When an account is closed, its files are deleted as described in the privacy policy. Download anything you want to keep first.
- Parts of these terms that by their nature should survive (like ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity and governing law) continue after your account ends.
Changes to KnitzNGritz and to these terms
We may change these terms. If a change is important, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using KnitzNGritz after the change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, cancel before then.
Disclaimer of warranties
KnitzNGritz is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We don't promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that results will be accurate or meet your needs, or that files will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Some places don't allow some of these disclaimers, so some of them may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Wildfire Watchdog LLC and its owners, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to KnitzNGritz or these terms, even if we were told they were possible.
Our total liability for all claims related to KnitzNGritz or these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event that led to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law doesn't allow a limit.
Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, your use of KnitzNGritz, or your breaking of these terms or the law, you agree to defend and compensate us (including reasonable legal fees) for that claim, to the extent the law allows. We'll tell you about the claim and may choose to handle our own defense.
Disputes and governing law
- Please email us first at admin@wildfirewatchdog.com. Most problems can be fixed quickly that way.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
- Any lawsuit about these terms or KnitzNGritz must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Deschutes County, Oregon, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
- Arbitration is not required. Either of us may also bring a claim in small claims court where the claim qualifies.
- If you live outside the USA, you may also have rights under the laws of your country that these terms can't take away.
Other legal terms
- Entire agreement: these terms, together with our privacy policy and refund policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about KnitzNGritz.
- Severability: if a court finds part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect, and that part is changed only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
- No waiver: if we don't enforce part of these terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
- Assignment: you can't transfer your account or these terms to someone else. We may transfer them as part of a merger, sale or reorganization, and will tell you if we do.
- Events outside our control: we aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by things we can't reasonably control, such as outages at our providers, natural disasters or internet failures.
- Notices: we'll contact you at the email on your account. You can reach us at admin@wildfirewatchdog.com.
